As far as power...and since its a large truck, I would put in a 261 or 292....261 for a more stock look or the 292 for more power. A good tranny would be an NV4500 though it would take some mods to get it to work. Will bolt up to a 292 with an adapter and a hydraulic clutch would need to be used. Nice because it has a granny low and an over drive..I personally am not a fan of wide ratio transmissions but for a large truck like that you need a good tough tranny. There's tons of options out there so keep an eye pealed. My 2 cents. TJ
