I agree with your pref to restore, it's just that the truck is no good to me if I can't use it. OTOH it is sad to "drive a new truck" under the cab.
As yet, it is not my truck as it's not bought yet. I am trying to realistically (ha ha) estimate the effort, cost and so on. The other variable is the purchase price. As my plans use less and less of the truck, I will need to pay less at purchase.
The truck is said to have been rebuilt mechanically from front to back. And it is not running at the moment so it's hard to qualify his statement. Seems like a nice guy but...
