I have a 1949 3600 pickup, original 6 cylinder, has been converted to 12 volts before I bought it. Installed new battery, positive cable got hot and terminal burned off cable. Positive/negative connections are correct. Engine did not turn over and starter did not engage. I am thinking that the starter is bad or maybe solenoid or foot starter switch? Any suggestions? Thanks
