Serial # F623B.I remember asking for solid lifters and was told at the time that all 235 engines already came with hydraulic lifters. Regarding the vacuum reading, I suppose I could set up the intake manifold with the proper fitting and pull over to the shoulder of the interstate and get a reading when the engine is acting up at its worst.
