If the engine has hydraulic lifters, it most likely is a car engine. Although, a 58-59 truck 235 block is drilled for hydraulic lifters and someone could have changed the cam/lifters.
What is the engine serial number (pressed into the block to the rear of where the distributor goes into the block)? A re-builder might have changed the code, but see what you have.
