I like them because they don't require the maintenance the the old points system does. I've used them on 3 different vehicles (2 Chevy small blocks and a 351 Cleveland) and they work great. It seemed the cars started easier and ran smoother. I never really checked fuel mileage but I felt like that was improved too.
My only concern is if they fail while I'm away from home. I used to carry all of the old points parts just in case.
