The frame is a formed channel, and the repair is in the rear area of the frame right where the Crossmember rivets in, I have removed the crossmember, and will be attmepting to repair the flat section of the C channel on the inside, The section that is 2" or so long. I will try to post a photo. What do you mean by cracking it along the edge, I think the edge is preaty solid I will be working in a 1/4" or so from the edge.
