Thanks David for the points. I can move the proportioning valve to the frame, but the main concern (as you can hopefully see in the photo now) is that the bracket (and the cylinder) stick too far out to line up with the brake pedal. The pedal and the center of the dual cylinder should line up and they're off by more than an inch.
Perhaps I have an odd mounting position but it sticks out a long way for the old single cylinders?
