I sprayed the interior of my 59 Fleetside a few days ago....finally committed to a color:2tone, Omaha Orange over bombay ivory. not original, but at least they are 59 colors. It looks pretty good, considering it was my first time using a spray gun. I would post pic, but I don't have any yet.
I was amazed at how much overspray filled the air! I sprayed outside in my yard, and there was a huge cloud of the stuff that just went all over. I guess I kind of knew it would, but I just wanted to get it done. I'm surprised the nieghbors didn't complain.
I am planning on painting the whol truck, where it sits (before I put the engine in). I'm considering a few things so I don't fill the air with ground level ozone and VOC. First, I might get one of those temporary garages and put it up around the truck and set up some sort of ventilation.
Next, I think I'll get an HVLP gun.
With the HVLP, is there noticable overspray? I mean, like a mist in the air as with my conventional gun? Could I spray outside and not be too guilty of polluting and [censored] off the nieghbors when the get in their car and there winshield has a fine Omaha Orange mist settled on it? I'll probably do the garage thing anyway, for dust control.
also, anybody have any ideas about ventilating the garage? I've heard house fans spark, and that's a bad thing around fumin' paints and such.
