Yeah, all I can say is, the numbers, if read perfectly, is a 54/55 261. Since dirt and debris can change a 3 to an 8 or whatever, if its clean, and these numbers are good, its a 261.

I have seen so many anomalies with these trucks in parts, if seems that every now and then, maybe its Friday, the GM employee does the wrong thing and all comes together anyway. Maybe those captains bars are there.. you just cant see them. Let us know when you have taken the engine to an engine shop, had it shot peened and magnifluxed, and cleaned. Maybe it will all become apparent. Good luck! If its a 261 its a nice engine!
