If it was mine I would make sure that the points are closing. Then I would turn the motor until the points were fully open, then adjust them. The I would disconnect the wire that goes to the coil "+" terminal. Take a test lead and go from the battery "+" post to the coil "+" terminal. Crank the engine and see if there is spark.
