I never saw the need for a heat riser for the Hillbilly intake I built for a 302 GMC.

I made cuts with a band saw, bolted the pieces to a complete manifold for a jig, heated her up and started welding. It was one of my first projects when I bought my first Millermatic 200 around 30 years ago. I had to true it up with a belt sander. It's been on several engines. I've had a few fires in a carb when my linkage wasn't right, but for the most part it made a 302 really come to life.
