If you can get one. Find a "tach and dwell" meter. They are not expensive. I got mine from Sears. It will tell you if the point gap is good with the dwell angle and is handy to set idle speed from outside where you are trying to make the adjustments. More important to what is messing with you at this time...if the connections are bad or the condenser it will read all over the place. Good luck and keep us posted.
