Ok thanks for the pictures and all other related articles, the 1 I have is a rotary switch with off in the middle and slow and fast on opposite sides c/w small 6 volt light bulb in the cap. I'll try to post a picture later today.
Quite possibly a aftermarket add on as Denny has mentioned.
