3 speed switch part # 3126693 went with this Recirculating heater part # 986554
2 speed switch part # 3128267 went with this Deluxe/Fresh Air/Air Flow Heater part # 986104

The heaters both have 6 volt motors and I really don't think it matters what switch goes with what heater.
The resistor is going to get hot no matter what.
It has to resist or hold back the extra voltage, which creates heat.
