Jerry is the expert here Scott but I wouldn't think you would
get a good read with it. Grease, even lithium grease is
semitransparent when spread real thin. The white lead or
titanium white would work well because even when spread very
thin they still cover very well.
I've got to dig out the 4.10 I got for my '54 and give the
titanium white a try. But as the man said it taint gonna be of
any use at the lathe.
