Be sure to do a thorough job of degreasing everything before trying to run a contact pattern- - - -indicator dye on oily gears doesn't show up well. I've used paint, Prussian Blue, and White Lead as a tooth contact medium- - - -White Lead is by far the best choice if you can find it.
