Off to the junkyard to find the car that has one,I remember seeing one when I started thinking about getting the wipers working. I was hoping there was a vendor at Hershey that delt with fuel pumps but did not see one but there was one that had wiper motors.

I don't know the amount of travel required to release but it is not a small amount when measured at the outer end of the clutch arm. If you only have a small amount of travel something has changed in the stack up of parts between the clutch pedal and the clutch arm. The good news is that is all external to the bell housing so you shouldn't need to dig too deep to find the solution.

I agree with both Kevin’s. Post a few pictures of your damaged roof. It may be easier to straighten than replace.

With a 3/4 inch CP wrench, you ought to be able to dang near twist the bolts/studs. I use a 1/2" Ingersoll rated at 600 ft/lbs, but it won't give full torque until I remove the restrictive quick connect and attach the 3/8 hose directly to the wrench. Give that a try next time you really need the impact and torque. Torque spec for my Budd lugs/bolts is 500 ft/lb

Basically to install a helicoil, the drill size is the same as the major diameter of the size you're installing. So you're not really taking out that much metal. I have just run the helicoil tap through a part with fully stripped threads without drilling. The set I have is 10-24 and needs a 13/64 drill. Drill size for a 10-32 helicoil would be the same. It looks like you can get a 10-32 helicoil type thread repair kit for under $30 on Amazon. Actual Helicoil brand is crazy expensive now.

This is all good stuff! Maybe someone can help me convince Peggy that the Stovebolt Mobile Command Center (e.g., the '01 AmTran former school bus) needs to do more than occasionally shift from one side of the shed to the other ...

Sorry it's been a lil bit since I posted but I'm actually getting around to this engine/trans swap for my truck. Anyway I was wondering what I need to know exactly to be able to find a pto that will work for this transmission?
Would it be easiest to be looking for another Spicer trans just like mine with a pto or are there other models that could interchange?
I'm just not sure how to even search for this online either? I do know a good older truck salvage yard that's pretty handy for older trucks and medium-heavy duty trucks is their specialty. They actually rebuilt a 2 speed rear end for me on a 85 f600. I just need to know what exactly I should know before calling them and asking them if they could help me out....

I am not saying gravity pulls the calibers back. I was saying with the old system everytime I got in the truck I had to pump the brakes. I was told that is because with the lines higher than the MC fluid would drain back into MC causing excessive pedal travel until I pumped them up.

My 66 C10 has the Economy (cheaper) heater - defroster assembly. I was able to get the top off of the under hood assembly and remove the heater core. How do I remove the blower? Do I have to remove the assembly under the dash? Thanks for any advice.

I thought this worked out good. The switch for the heater fits up where the THROTLLE cable was.
The pull out that came with the heater switch fits this old chromed knob w/setscrew.
Now its NOT mounted under the dash on a cable bracket.
The heater works well. I have the stock heater on the defrost vents. Both on the fuse block. ACC

I am not sure about the notch but the blown up picture of the cylidner bore looks pretty smooth (no cross hatch) so I suspect that at a minimum the bores will need to be flex honed and new piston rings will be required. You won't know if the bores can be flex honed or need to be bored oversize without measuring the bores for wear.

Running the cleaning procedure before you tear it down shouldn't hurt anything and may provide a stop gap solution to provide you time to accumulate the funds required to have the engine rebuilt.

I'll bet that Jerry would be capable of drilling and tapping a 216 head for the valve cover bolts and use a 235 valve cover on it. Compared to the rest of the machine work needed, that's a walk in the park.
