Eric Pesci's1956 Harley Davidson FL Police Bike |
17 August 2006
From Eric :
This is my 1956 Harley Davidson FL police bike. This was a Cleveland PD motorcycle. It's all original, every nut and bolt -- but the tanks and fenders were repainted. This is the 74 c.i. motor. The siren is hand operated (my '50 police bike is foot operated).
This is actually the first hand shift (suicide clutch) I ever drove and it's a little tricky when your not used to it. For those who don't know - the clutch is at left foot - a rocker clutch. The shifter is on the left tank. Essentially, when you're clutching with the left foot and shifting with the left hand, you have only one hand on the handlebars and one foot to balance and brake with. I'm still not that good at it.
Anyway, what more to say! Ain't no head like a panhead.
