I'm looking at putting a different engine in(a friend suggested one of the LS) but I'd like to keep the three speed column shift. I'm guessing the transmission is really going to limit me but just thought I would check.

The 4 speed, is heavier duty, was used through the 50's into the early 60's....

He finally scraped up enough pocket change to put a Muncie 4 speed in it and we didn't blow up transmissions so often. Jerry
