It was driving well until it started to cut out (almost like a miss) and stated sputtering...I pulled over and it died on me then I had it towed home.
When I take the wire off the spark plug I cant seem to see any spark. I tried two used coils and an N.O.S. coil and none of them worked. I was playing around with a voltage tester and I started checking for power, what we found is I'm not getting power through the coil..we're getting power to the top of the top of the coil from the ignition switch when we bypass the coil form the ignition switch to the distributor the(tester doesn't seem to register any power going through the coil) I also cleaned and adjusted the points...truck turns over but doesn't run. Not sure how many ohms it should be, maybe somewhere around 30-40 ohms? If it reads 0 you need to buy a new one.

With the ignition on, you should see full voltage at the feed to the coil. With this and the points open, you will see full voltage at the coil connection to the distributor. With the points closed you should see zero volts at the connection to the distributor.
