Ive been resolving some issues on my rear lights and while Im at it, I would like to get the back up lights working. Truck never had them but there were some reflectors in the hole where they go.
Ive got the back up lights installed but need to know what wiring harnessses to buy and where it connects :confused: up in the front of the truck.
I already have a new rear harness for the taillights, and it plugs into a specific place up front, but don't know where I would plug in the backup light harness.

Here is a neat site that has wiring diagrams for your year truck....although it's a GMC! I don't know if they are similar, but this shows backup lights, colors, connectors and a firewall plug location.

Backup lights normally require a linkage or transmission operated switch to 'turn on'..I guess you have all the in place.

There is another Chevrolet site I checked, but they don't show backup lights on their wiring diagrams...looks like they were installed with a bumper, or after the truck left Detroit! The wiring on the Chevrolet site looked almost identical to the GMC site, sans lights and wires.

On a 64-66, the wiring(green) came from the fuse box, then to a reverse light switch(on the column if column shift,on top of trans if floor shift)then thru the firewall to the framerail then out back, usually taped or tied to the tailight harness along the way. Brian

Yeah, fleetside has the right idea. This is a 1 wire circuit, you don't need to buy a wiring harness. If the wire isn't already there and pigtailed off, just run a new one.
