The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts Dayton wheels for a C60

My 65 C60 is equipped with RH5 split rims right now. There seems to be a huge abundance of Dayton type wheels available and cheap. And I know they can be serviced by most truck tire places. What needs to be done to make Daytons work in place of the RH5's? Can it be done?

Hy IHBoilermaker, I would have to do some research to be sure but I think new hubs/drums would be needed to convert from Kelsey or Budd wheels to Dayton wheels. Finding a different type of Kelsey or Budd wheels possibly even tubeless wheels would be a lot cheaper in the long run, hope that helps.

You would have to change hubs, but a lot of school buses used open center wheels. Junk school buses are a good source of 2 ton stuff with hydraulic brakes.
