Dropped it in my pick-up and couldn't get it to start, found 4 stuck valves. I am now soaking it in penetrating oil but dont feel good about it. My question is, can I remove the heads off of my 216 and put them on the 235? Also, will I need to have the 216 heads rerworked? Wasn't having any problems with the 216 starting and running but I did have a smoking problem with it. Also could someone give me a ball park figure of what I can expect to pay for the work? Sure would appreciate any advice you guys could give me. We cannot solve our problems today using the same thinking we used when we created them!

I would check the cylinders for a ridge at the top indicating a need for a complete rebuild. If the cylinders are OK, than maybe having the head rebuilt will be sufficient to get it going again. Price for head rebuild will be somewhere between $200-$450 depending on what it needs. Complete engine rebuild is between $2000-$3000.
