G’day Stovebolters, my name is Darrin, an Australian living in England restoring an American 1950 AD 3100 on a Japanese four wheel drive chassis and I work world wide installing bakery machinery. I have had my truck for 3 years bought on UK eBay as a non runner; from the start I intended the build to be 4X4, economical, right hand drive and parts readily available in the UK, as a daily driver to travel 600 miles to work. (Anyone would have thought that the Japanese had copied the dimensions of the Chevy chassis, even down to a 6 stud wheel paten)
Now the truck is running and registered I have joined the bolters to ask a few questions instead of just browsing getting ideas, hopefully if I spend more time off the computer and more time under my welding mask and by the end of next year I’ll have her all painted and worthy of a front page shot, I love the stock look.

Front page shot?? That's not necessary here japco. We like them all and we like the build process. Be sure to have a link to your pictures!!

...did you install any bakery equipment here in South Carolina recently? I know a bakery just started up in Gaffney, S.C. not long ago.

Thanks Extreme Munkster, I always wait for the next month to turn to see what is on the front page of stovebolt, No South Carolina, i was in Chicargo, T,N and Atlanta last year, my bags where full of truck goodies (no tax) So many photos just need to sit down and find out how to put them on. do you know of anyone that as extended a tacho neddle shaft and pop it out in the middle of the fuel and temp gauge cluster to keep the stock look ?

Posting the Photos is the hardest part of the build, 1950 4X4 but I think i got it going on !

Thanks for the kind words, but talent does not lie in computer skills, I have changed so much of the trucks heart so I owe her to keep her orignal looks ,standard Forester green the cream rims and a cream cab pinstrip, plus a canvas canopy like the U.S forrest trucks , hopfuly besides the steering wheel on the worng side and a 4X4 shifter to the untrained eye it will look stock,
