Is it for sale?
Will you buy it?
Looks like somebody don't know what they have sitting there.
It's not too far for me if the price is reasonable.

Cool find!

It is a 1939-42 GMC AFKX-352 shop van. I think most all were actually produced before we entered WW2. Roosevelt could see the writing on the wall...

The front drive axle was produced by the Timken Corporation.

There were several other body configurations made on a similar platform. It is basically the early version of the wartime CCKW and some parts interchange.

You are lucky to see one.

What engine does it have? Trans? For sure a '39 or so as has been said. That body style had 360(OHV) or so gassers, 4-71's, 5 speed direct(gasser) or 5 speed OD(diesel). Could also have inherited Buick 6 cyl gassers, probably not likely, though. If same running gear as CCKW, etc., could also have 270 GMC gasser w/ 4 speed.

I had a similar vehicle, '41 to '47 body style, 228 or so engine, 2WD, 1.5 ton running gear, was radio vehicle, had big gen. hooked to driveline. No px.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I believe the driveline is similar to the CCKW: 270 gasser, Clark 5 speed OD, and corporate hi/low transfer case.

Nice, but the only 6 left in the World, is taking it a bit far. I've seen more than that surfing the web.

If it is a Clark OD trans, top gear(OD) will be to right, against firewall, will have O in MN, i.e. 260VO... Great option, makes more useful in today's traffic.

Hi,G.M.C.Pic! The guy that owns the junk-yard,has it parked in a spot that makes it visible to a lot of traffic,in THE salvage yard area of Des Moines,Iowa. I-35 and I-80 intersect 8- miles north of its location. The owner is asking $15,000,and I'm sure it's still there. It looks like it's been sitting in the same spot for YEARS!!I coulda got the guy's number, but Billy,(owner of the '59 Viking 60 bus),took a tour of the junkyard, without owner's consent. It's a wonder I got the info.I did,'cause he was MAD!! I don't blame him! I'm GLAD I took the video, before we entered the yard! (See what I mean about "stooges"?) Happy Holidays!!

yep, its a AFKX-352, the more rare model with the sloped back option. Military truck. They were mobile shop trucks. Would have a 426 cu in straight 6.
I have a 41 GMC AFKX-352 for sale. Message me if interested.
