I have a 1955 chevy car transmission with B/w overdrive in my 53 3100. The tailshaft seal is leaking and i need to know what seal to use to fix the problem. And should i replace the bushing also. Thanks.

Just a normal rear seal, the one for the overdrive is no different. If you want to change the bushing, you will have to take the tailshaft housing off of the transmission. Put the driveshaft yoke back in and see if there is a lot of movement, if so maybe change the bushing.

That seal was used on just about every transmission Chevrolet made, including most automatics.
