F is for Flint but what is the "0707J'" all about? Would this have been a new engine from a Chev or other GM dealer directly from Chevrolet? Bill

07 = 7th
J = 3100-3200-3800 1958-63(?) trucks with regular production engine/transmission

I guess the same as you. It could be 1961, but that would be one day after casting (I think - I might be decoding incorrectly).
