I bought a nice 50 half ton on ebay. I got it Tuesday today after work I crawled under it to look at the floor pans for mounting seat belts. And I see it does not have the stock rear end. It has the cast number on the front 1253741 and then 7 6 03.

Hy Pastlite, a picture would help me more than the numbers would. Is it an open drive rear axle? The second group of numbers might be a casting date, July third 1953, or maybe 1963, hope that helps.

Thanks 3B its a open rear axle so its not a 53. Its a lot higher geared. The truck is a 4 speed that use to be 3 speed. Unlike the 2 4 speed trucks I use to own. 53 half ton and 47 one ton this one is so high geared you can use first gear.
