I recently picked up what appears to be a 1946 1 1/2 ton dually. I have been all over the Internet but haven't been able to accurately decode the engine. It is: DAA27I869. The sixth one is an I as in Ice Cream. This truck is giving me decoding fits as it appears to be one of the '46's built with leftover parts from the pre-war years. Anyone out there that can help me out? I'd REALLY appreciate it! Thanks, Brian

My '38 has the letter I as the number 1 in my engine number as well. I believe that was common practice.

Thank you, This is a big help. That "I" really threw me off. Now I can start my journey to get a title in Wisconsin - with just a bill of sale! I'm prepared for a long, drawn out process. Stay tuned
