Hello I just picked up a 41 1/2 ton pickup a few weeks ago. Found it down in Florida when I was visiting my dad a few years ago. At the time the owner(about 80) said he didn't want to sell it because he was going to fix it up. Well last month I got the call, he's ready sell. So I got my dad to pull it out and pull it to his house then I made arrangements to get it to Ohio. My plan is to get it road ready and just drive it and have some fun with it. Maybe my son will want to restore it someday. Here is a video of the truck on youtube.

Hi Tom and welcome. How much tinkering did that take to get her to fire up? One of the highlights of this hobby is to hear them run for the first time in many years. Why don't you work at it with your son? Do it together. Whatever you do, enjoy the journey and ask here if you need help.
Thanks guys! I've found a few things on it that need attention. I went through the brakes this week. Found a master cylinder mine was missing. A friend had one he took off his years ago. Replaced all the brake lines and hoses, and rebuilt the wheel cylinders. It's got brakes now even had my 11 year old son out there helping me bleed them. He's starting to love the truck! Now the next step is finding a water pump and getting the radiator fixed. The wiring harness has been cut so that to will need replaced. I'm on the look out for a floor pan and a seat bottom if anyone knows of any.
As for the engine I pulled the pan cleaned out the sludge and made sure the oil tubes weren't plugged. made some plug wires and put some plugs in it because they were all missing. I checked the timing and hooked a temporary fuel take to the carb. The carb seemed to work ok even the accelerator pump worked. I rigged up a wire to the coil and gave it a go. It would try to fire but not run so I pulled the plugs and squirted some oil in on the pistons to help with compression, put the plugs back in and it fired up for a second. So I squirted the oil in again and she fired up and ran. Now it fires right up. Even got the fuel pump working with out any trouble.
Were do you guys get your tires? The truck has split rims that are 15 inch.

Really a neat truck! Even the finish looks cool. You may have a hard or impossible time finding someone to mount tires on your split rims. I am getting my tires from Coker because I want something that looks authentic but if you do a search you will find a lot on tires.
I have another question for you guys. The temp gauge probe isn't in the block. What kind of fitting goes in the head for the probe? Were can I find one? Thanks for all the help guys. Tom
