This is an intake manifold.

I've tried the CASTING number thread on here and on Google and many other places with no luck.

8835682?

3835682?

3885682?

Did you try the GM parts Wiki? There is a link at the top of General Truck Talk.

the manifold is an updraft...

trying to determine if it's a 41-49 or 50-54. It will make a
difference on what carb to try to get

Hi, all! I've got an intake/exhaust manifold assembly that I've been told is for a Chevy COE with a 235 engine. The exhaust manifold casting number is 3835580, and the intake appears to be 3835582, but it is not very distinct. It's got a big 1-barrel updraft carburetor, and an exhaust outlet near the #6 cylinder area. Does anyone have a casting number book handy? Thanks in advance!
Jerry

Need to make sure he has a '50-'54 COE, with Carter 871, or 2075 Carb. The Carter 517 updraft, that was used on the '41-'49 Chevy COE's, won't fit this manifold.

Don't know about the casting numbers, but the earlier Chevrolet updraft Carter BB carbs had a center to center spacing of 2 11/16. Most common of these would be the 517s. Later carbs would have a center to center spacing of 2 15/16. Most common of these would be the 871s.

Jon.

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air
The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.
