#449979 - Sun Sep 07 2008 01:16 PM Need a little casting number help Hotrod Lincoln Online Master Gabster Registered: Mon Feb 23 2004 Posts: 8618 Loc: Dellrose, TN Hi, all! I've got an intake/exhaust manifold assembly that I've been told is for a Chevy COE with a 235 engine. The exhaust manifold casting number is 3835580, and the intake appears to be 3835582, but it is not very distinct. It's got a big 1-barrel updraft carburetor, and an exhaust outlet near the #6 cylinder area. Does anyone have a casting number book handy? Thanks in advance! Need to make sure he has a '50-'54 COE, with Carter 871, or 2075 Carb. The Carter 517 updraft, that was used on the '41-'49 Chevy COE's, won't fit this manifold. _________________________ Spanky Hardy......Collector Of Fine Old G.M. Most common of these would be the 517s. Later carbs would have a center to center spacing of 2 15/16. Most common of these would be the 871s.
Jon. Good carburetion is fuelish hot airThe most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify. If you truly believe "one size fits all," try walking a mile in your spouse's shoes! The Carburetor Shop | | |
