| | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 331 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 331 | I have two 261s, one is a late block with the new style water pump, etc and the other one is a '54 model (3703414) and it has the high mount water pump on it. I'm just learning about these engines and so far I thought all the 261s had the new style water pump. Did the early ones use the same style pump as the earlier 235s? If so, which years? Its possible this engine has an adapter plate on it for that pump but I really can't tell for sure.

Of course, you would have to match the year/style of the pump to the block (or use an adapter plate, if you have the 54/55st block).
