And if you do, can you offer any insight to installing them without the screws showing inside the roof of the cab? Thanks.

It would be very easy over time for the wire coat to peel and create a short.

Don't know if they were factory installed or dealer installed, but you can tell they are the same age as the truck. Still work too!!

Although I tried to find some, they were no diagrams available back then to put them on in the correct position, that I could find anyway. I went to Junk Yards to measure some Big Bolts, only to find out there were more than one variation. The dealer or owner probably installed some of those. Anyway I went by measurements that I belived to be correct and was satisfied with the results. Today you can find those diagrams online. They have been posted a few times over at '67-'72 Chevy Trucks.

We have removed a few roof caps, in favor of a roof cap with no cab clearance lights & saved them, for use as a template, when installing cab clearance lights.

I have been trying to identify the model of this truck with no luck. Not very computer literate so my wife does most of the looking. The VIN number indicates a possible Heavy half ton or Big 10 due to the cab roof marker lights??? The side emblems are blank so would like to put correct ones on. It has a 350 with turbo 350. Am just starting to spruce her up but would like to know more about model etc? A friend told me that this was only available as a special order and that usually only available on 1 ton cabs. By the way, the roof marker lights are actually on molded in pedestals in the cab roof. Sorry to be so wordy, I'm brand new at this. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 | Sounds like the Cab Lights you have are "Fireman's Hat" style, which were pretty common in '72. I believe they were optional on any size truck, although the Heavy 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 Ton trucks got the Yankee 77 type. If the Side Lights are just the "Plain" style, they may be correct for your truck. I would check the Door Jamb Tag to see what GVW the truck has.
Welcome to the site, by the way.
