either an old casting ( if there ever was one ) or a home made set up? Some pictures, if anybody has any would be great.

Thanks,
Greg

My Grumman is stock with updraft carbs. I'll try to get a pic sometime this week if you still want one.

A buddy of mine has a 235 in an F-20 tractor (old homebrew conversion). It's got the stock intake and exhaust manifolds both turned upside down, updraft carb and an exhaust stack. I would be willing to bet you could just turn a Fenton or similar dual-carb manifold upside-down as well. The issue will be the exhaust. I'm not sure if you'd have room to run the exhaust in the stock location.

Sorry, I misread the topic and didn't see "dual". My updraft manifold is a stock single carb.

"Has anyone ever seen a dual updraft manifold for any GM inline?"

I believe one of the big GMC sixes (maybe the mid-1940's 426?) had a dual updraft setup. My uncle used a retired GMC road tractor to haul BIG boats from his shop in Goodlettsville Tennessee to Old Hickory lake after he repaired them, back in the mid-1950's.

My records show a set of two one barrel carbs on the GMC 616 CID 6 cylinder inline used on the model Z Yellow Coach (bus) from 1931 to 1934; but they were downdraft carbs (Strombergs).

Cadillac used dual updraft one-barrels on the V-12 and V-16 engines from 1931 through 1937, but of course these were not inline engines.

I have no record of any dual single-barrel updraft manifold used by GM on an inline engine.

Jon.

Allis Chalmers used dual single-barrel updraft carbs on their model L tractor from 1933 to 1942. This was on an 844 CID inline 6.

Not GM, but closest I have found so far.

Jon.
