Have installed a 14 bolt rear in my 50 3/4t flatbed. Now it's time to figure out the p brake. The rear has the cables from the dOnor truck still attached but they are much longer and are set up to pull from one side. Before I get started do any of you know a straight forward solution?

Also on a separate note the cpp brake booster kit I got ain't holding pressure. bled everything, no leaks, get pressure on the pedal and truck brakes. after it sits have to pump it up again to build up pressure. Would appreciate a tip took it to the shop for the first time to get it bled and now its in a bay leaking cash.
Thanks
Aubrey

I have the same issue on installing a Dana 60 in a 55 1st series 3600. I plan to use the original cable from the truck joining it to the cable from the replacement Dana 60. I plan to cut the cables and use some sort of union to join them. Not sure what kind of union to use but it will need to with stand quite a bit of load.

When youd do figure out the union, could you please post it. This problem doesn't get a lot of coverage.

On the large early 2-tons they used a different system that may be adaptable to your issue. From their floor brake handle they ran two cables from the crossbar on the frame back to the brakes (interior to frame). You can source swaged cables from industrial suppliers that you could clevis on the one end at the bar and then do the same at the brakes with a similar fitting. This would be a measured fabricated cable to your exact needs. I do not believe you will have great luck with a connector between cobbled bits. The alternative would be to go to a source like speedwaymotors.com and adapt street rod e-brakes (several options) as this problem is common to those set-ups as well. An example from speedway Item #: 49108004. Good luck!
