When we got it, there was a pair of modern outside rearview mirrors on it - left and right. We have an old picture of the truck and there appears to be a different outside mirror on the truck when it was new. There are currently 2 holes at the top of the driver's door that I believe the mirror mounted to. I also believe this was an optional mirror - 2 arms in sort of a wishbone shape with a round mirror head. We want to obtain a mirror of this type to put back on the truck. These were installed on many of the 1939-1947 larger Chevy trucks. I have a 1940 Chevy my grandfather bought new. It has this mirror on it originally. They removed it somewhere along the line because they vibrated too much, according to my Dad. They replaced it with just a long single arm that attached to the cowl. I wanted to put it back original and looked around for about a year before I finally found one on an old truck in a Craigslist ad. Good luck! | | |
