I have a cursive chevrolet emblem fastened on the lower right of my glovebox. My question is did this come from the factory? I have spent endless hours researching this and everyone has told me it was just a homejob. I believed it as it was everyone response was the same until I just came across an old farmers stocker all original '60 with this same emblem. Is there any solid information on this? I am learning tht this was an early '60 production truck. Deluxe custom cab if that helps. Thanks

If you found another truck, with the exact same emblem, located in the exact same place, I'd say you are providing the "solid information".

Back in the '60's there weren't the hard fast rules like there are today when it comes to buying a vehicle. Lot's of strange combinations and options could be ordered that were either put on at the factory, or as dealer installed equipment.

Got any photos of what you are talking about?

Don't think it's that simple. Some do, some don't seem to be the only rule! My '60 never had it.

custom = meaning factory "Custom Cab"
kustom = meaning modified http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kustom http://kustomkempsofamerica.com/

Here are some photo's. I gotta say the 60-63 dashes are so much better looking than the 64-66:

Thanks HRJ. That looks good. Do you know where I can find this emblem? If anyone else does that would be greatly appreciated. How common is this emblem? Any other trucks out of the factory have this?

Hey RJ, Do you have one of those glove box door emblems that you would like to part with or are they placed on finished/project trucks?

I recently found a reference to the glove box CHEVROLET script emblem, in the Assembly Manual and subsequently saw one on Ebay recently.
