Second question: I am transplanting lift gate into panel/barn doors truck. The upper original receivers for the hinges are very light so intend on beefing them up on install. Has anyone done this? Idon't think you need to beef up the hinges, just rebuild them. I experimented with modifying them and was happy with the results. Mine were 49 and they did not look that strong.
I beefed them up a little and have made the slots to hang them
in the sill of the panel truck. The roof supports are slightly in the way so need to cut and spot weld a little.
Does anyone know how much lateral play is okay in the hinge?
