I have done several searches and not found what I'm looking for. How can I mount my '46 E-brake to my T5 trans? Does anyone make a bracket? Photos or a description would help me greatly.

Thank you in advance!

go to limeworks.com ...click on emeregency brake handle they make a bracket that bolts right next to the shifter for an emergency brake handle for the t-5... I have one in my 46 1/2 ton easy bolt up ..... that should work for you...and cheap too

I just used a 90 deg. bent over piece of steel, matched up to three bolts on top of T5 and drilled required holes on side.

Thanks for the links and suggestions guys. If I can't buy a bracket, I will have to make one with the linked pics and the suggestions.

sc105b - The Limeworks.com site was full of bad juju, and a search turned up http://limeworkspeedshop.com which was where you wanted me to go. However their 'E Brake Handle' category was blank, and their 'T5 E Brake Parts' category just sends you to their T5 shifter. So IDK, maybe they don't offer it anymore. Will have to call them Monday.... Will report back.

Thank you all so far!

Sorry I didn't suggest that one. The link I referred you to was pics I used for a guide to make your own.

Was easy enough with a little patience and making templates out of cardboard. & I'm a horrible fabricator...

Hey X,
I used the bracket from limeworks. It did the job but since my T5 sits a little above the floor, the bracket had to be modified. It was lowered so that the e brake lever didn't hit the floor. I do not have a current pic of it installed but I'll get one later on today and edit this post with the picture. The bracket from the link "jalopyjournal" that SC105B posted is a nice example of one and I wish I had seen it prior to getting my bracket. I could of made one or had one made to fit.

Here is a link to another post that Elmer46 posted.

I did the same as bolter 43. I took two pieces of flat steel, welded them at 90 deg cut slots on top for the top plate webbing and holes for the top plate mounts and holes on the side and spacers to mount the e-brake handle.

Thanks for all the input guys! The Limeworks bracket wasn't going to work for me. I don't trust only two 6mm bolts in aluminum to mount it, too much leverage. Also, I wanted to come as close to the OEM location relative to the floorboard as I could get, and that would entail having the front mounting bolt ABOVE the trans top cover and bracket. I also wanted a bracket that used the two cast tabs on the side of the trans case for rigidity.

I did some measuring of the original trans mounting bosses for height and set-back from the bellhousing, then some measuring of the T5 as installed in my truck.

I got some 3 1/2" X 1/8" square tubing, cut off an 8 1/2" piece, cut it at 2" wide for the top and 3/4" wide for the bottom.

http://s931.photobucket.com/user/bajadq/slideshow/WTF

The handle should be at the correct height and set-back, but because the T5 is wider than the orig. trans, it will be about 1 1/2" farther to the right from original. I could maybe gain half of that offset back by mounting the mechanism on the inside of a wider C channel with a cut-out on the top, but that may have it's own issues too.

The 2 pictures in the photo album of the clutch/brake pivot shaft are of the new one I had to make from a 3/4" bolt, with a bushing being the same size as a Ford flathead rod bushing.

Hope this will help for some guys in the future.

Thanks for sharing your E-Brake conversion, nice work! I need to do the exact conversion and also move front side motor mounts from the 62 235 to the center that my 46 Chevy 1/2 ton needs. Thanks again for taking the time for the writeup and great pictures, Brad [email protected]
