On my '46 half ton, there are two control knobs above the driver for the wiper (drive side only in my case). At times, if I pull and twist and move these knobs, the vacuum wipers will move. Exactly how are these knobs supposed to work? I referred to the owner's manual and service manual and found nothing. Are the knobs to be pulled? Turned? Is one 'on and off' and the other 'speed control'? Which one is which? Left? Right? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, any recommendations on a good 'replacement arm and blade' are appreciated as the ones I ordered (company name omitted) are very thin and leave a lot to be desired. Thanks!

The one that you can pull and push in is on / off pull = on push = off, you turn the speed control clockwise to slow the motor down.
Most vendors that carry replacement carry only original style arms and blades. Original style blades are thin, there were replacements that were of more modern style to use them you would have to add a adapter to the shaft to use the new style arm.

Todd - check a marine supply store for blades that fit on the original arms but work much better, boats use similar

I've fought wiper blades with my 46 also, now have taken them off until I find a better set up. Don't forget to use LOTS of RAIN-X. Saw a youtube on applying it, use copious amounts rinse and repeat!
