I've ordered another batch of the special black 6" adjustable wrenches which you may choose to have engraved with the following 2 lines:
Old Dominion Stovebolt Society
"your name here"

Some of you may remember that I've had one in my pocket for a while... and a couple years ago I did some extensive testing trying to find a good Adjustable, US made or not, most importantly just a really good one. The short story is I found some sold by Martin Tool that are not only very nice, but also made in the USA, and very affordable.

The next chapter in the wrench story is the Martin 6" adjustables were really made by Western Forge in Colorado, and they make the same wrench for a few other good tool brands. (I only just learned this interesting fact) The batch coming this time are the same black 6" adjustable only marked "Williams". So the second edition will be distinguishable from the first, and you may desire to order a new, "second edition ODSS wrench".

Price to be determined after a new quote on engraving but I expect them to be at least as fair as they were last time which was ~$25 and shipping if necessary.

I'll get Peggy's I'd like to order a second one if we can get better/deeper engraving. My first wrench is no longer readable and was only marginally readable to start.

So I'll get one with "John Milliman" and one with "Peggy Milliman"

Shall we get one engraved for Leland and trade him out for the unengraved one he has now?

I'd like to donate to Leland's wrench, in fact if we all donated a small amount it could be from all of us. Thanks for the 'head's up' John!

Only one trouble.... they're not blank on the back side like the Martin versions were. (I even asked on the phone when ordering and thought they were going to be blank on the back... obviously some confusion on that question)

So I'm not sure how we'll engrave these wrenches, I'll stop at the shop and see if they have any ideas, perhaps on the sides of the jaw.

On the plus side these are really nice wrenches (as I expected) and this time around I couldn't find such a good deal on the Martins anyhow. The Martins were going to be significantly more this time from the same vendor I used last time and even with a larger order than before. These Williams on the other hand are cheaper than the Martins were last time, and every bit as good a wrench, made by the very same folks.

Step 3- Have them engraved

Step 4- trade them for cash, probably September at the Winchester Show

They turned out quite nice, and the engraving is legible. I wouldn't say it's deep but it will show for years and years to come. Sorry it couldn't be done on the handles like the last batch but there wasn't any room on these.

Today, Sat. I'll be at the engine show in Bridgewater, VA at least for the morning, if you'll be there and want to pick up your wrench come find me. Bringing a diesel powered ice cream maker on a cart, and will probably leave that on a tiny aluminum trailer.
