I put an SM420 Tranny on my 261 for my '59 half-ton truck and have the correct cover on the floorboard of the cab for the Shift Stick and Ebrake hand lever.
I have a boot for the Shift Stick but can't seem to locate a vendor for a boot for the Ebrake lever.
Can anyone point me to one?

edit: I realize this is a Big Bolt section, I just thought I could get my help better here, for a big bolt type tranny.

My slot through the cover has full radius ends not rectangular. The boot I found above, is for a 47-55 1'st... I'm back to searching again! The Shift boot, I found at TruckAndCarshop in their 1947-1959 Catalog. BTW their prices are generally lower than most for the same aftermarket items. I'm not an expert on the little details like that on these AD trucks but still don't think I've seen remnants of an original boot for either. I'm not sure of this at all and that is a very good AND interesting point.
I have seen the foam seals for both Ebrake and Tranny and the round rubber boot that I have, might only enclose where the stick meets the SM420 tower!

Jerry | | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 603 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 603 | I have the remnants of both boots on a 57 GMC Big Bolt with the sm420. They are torn and hard as a brick, but you can tell what they were originally.
The e-brake is a rectangular hole, rounded at the ends, But I think I can cut the corners circular on the one he found on Classic Parts USA. I ordered it anyway.
My original shifter boot was a big rectangular rubber boot with an aluminum plate. Gonna try one from Summit Racing or one of the round boots for a pickup.
