Is the electricity still at the switch or is it waiting at the battery for you to turn on the lamp again? And how do you prove that? My thought is that it waits in the battery untill given a path to follow but I don't know how to prove that. If you hook up a test lamp or volt meter you give it a path. Huuuummmmmm???????

If you visualize a ride at Disneyland where the line if very long. When the first person in line goes through the turn-stile, he is replaced by another person at the end of the line. It just keeps happening this way..pop,pop,pop. One person (electron)out, another person (electron) in. The line is the wire full of electrons (people). If you lick your fingers and stick them in the wall socket, start counting, and when you feel the electricity, that is how many seconds it took for the power to come from the generating station in Dallas to Nacogdoches and fill up the wires. If you don't have to count "very much", it means the little electrons were just inside the socket waiting to 'git you'. This should prove the wire is full, ready and waiting shouldn't it. It's waiting for somewhere to go, and when you close the switch it goes to the light. Imagine an automatic sprinkler valve--the high side is pressurized, and then the solenoid is activated the valve opens and the water can flow through.

If you use a multimeter or test light you close the circuit and yes the electricity is there.

If i cut off the track behind the coaster the people are still in the car. If i unplug the wire at the battery no electricity is in the wire.

The switch opens a path for them to move while the battery provides the push to get them moving.
Electrons are kind of like teenage children.
They have lots of potential energy, but nothing happens until they are pushed or motivated. In the old days that motivation was sometimes provided by a switch. These days its common to bribe them with technology or other stuff instead.
Three guesses what my problems are there days...

I am right back where I started. You do realize I realy dont care if the electricty is at the end of the wire or not. And you may be right but how do you prove it? Its realy like the chicken and the egg who realy cares which one came first as long as I can have an omlett and some buffalo wings.

But if as you say the electricity is already at the end of the wire and you then cut the wire where it connects to the sourse then you should still have electricty at the end of the wire (maybe not a lot but measurable). If you dont (and you wont) find electricity at the end of the wire then it wasn't there in the first place. So I still say the electricity stays in the battery untill closed circuit is made. No the light in my fridge turns off, I put a vidio camara in there to make sure and I have a fiber optic cable attached to the bulb that sticks out of the seal just to make sure. lolololol

When they are full they hold the dark inside so you can throw them away. Electric bulbs: There is less dark near the electric bulb than at a distance of 100 feet when it is operating; therefore, it is sucking dark and can be classified as a dark sucker. The larger the dark sucker, the greater the distance it can suck dark. The larger the dark sucker the greater its capacity of dark. The dark sucking capabilities are evident when the dark sucker has reached its capacity and will no longer suck dark. At that point you may notice the dark area on the inside portion of the dark sucker. The larger the dark sucker, the larger the area of dark found within. This type of dark sucker can be made directional by placing a shield around a portion of the unit or behind it. This will prevent dark from entering the dark sucker from that side thereby extending the range of the dark sucker on the unprotected/unshielded side. Dark is faster than light. If you would open a drawer very slowly, you will notice that the light goes into the drawer. (You can see this happen.) You cannot see the dark leave the drawer. there is LOTS of darkness in the world, hense we need more dark suckers on and the conspiracy of the electric companies and our gov't tell you to turn them off when not in the room. turn them all on No really the juice stops at the switch when the switch is turned off. but when it is ON and no bulb (dark sucker) screwed in to the socket, the juice is floating around the room. the way to prove this is to stick your finger in that socket when the switch is on and you'll find out ...... fast so BE CarefuL ANOTHER FACT:: DON'T let the factory smoke out of the wires, because you CAN NOT replace it !!!!!!!!! Ps 110v will kill you ALWAYS TOUCH WIRES W/ THE BACK OF YOUR HAND NOT THE INSIDE PALM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your hand muscles will contract and grab the wire and YOU CAN NOT LET GO. be careful

There is track ahead of them and momentum or gravity forceing them on. If i unplug the wire at the battery no electricity is in the wire. correct no "electricity" you cut off the flow of electrons, but there are still electrons in the copper atoms of the wire. You see electrons are electrons just like water drops are water drops. If you have a 1 drop open container and you add just 1 more drop, you now have running water. Your sprinkler hose can hold only so many drops of water if you add 1 more drop 1 has to come out the other end. Each copper atom in wire can only hold so many electrons. If you try to add 1 more electron one has to leave the wire. But since none can leave the wire none can enter either. So the extra electron is still at its source, the battery. | | |

I agree, my question was is there electricity at the end of the wire when there is an open circuit and how do you prove that. The analogy of water in the hose won't work, and I mistakenly put people in the coaster, that was incorrect it should have been people in line to ride the coaster. There are electrons in everything all the time 24/7 and they are moving all the time. It is when all the electrons are moving in the same direction that you have currant (electricity). If not allowed to flow due to an open circuit no electricity is preasant. Still not proven. This is more like the falling tree in the woods with no one around thing.

According to definition #3, there is no "electricity" in your circuit until the switch is closed. Then the current can be measured with an Amp meter. But as long as the switch is wired to power source (i.e. battery) you can measure the "potential" for electricity across your switch with a Volt meter.
A lot of people think of electron flow as electrons moving along a wire freely like cars go down a highway. Actually, it works a little differently. Any conductor (thing that electricity can go through) is made of atoms. Each atom has electrons in it. If you put new electrons in a conductor, they will join atoms, and each atom will spit out an electron to the next atom. This next atom takes in the electron and spits out another one on the other side.
I really don't think it's anything like a tree falling in the forest. It's more like science, not philosophy.
But more importantly, can you tell me why my Amp meter and headlights are pulsing. :confused: Please see other post. | | |
