I was looking at the cost of buying a kit and it is around $500. A neighbor told me to just look at the wrecking yards for a car with power windows and convert it to my truck.
Has anyone done this and which truck or car did you get everything out of? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 177 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 177 | look at a mid 80 chevy truck or suburban. you will need something that has no curve in the glass.. i bought the doors and cut out the inter pannel of the door that held the regulators and motors then fited it to my doors and welded them in [ it was a 40 chevy sedan car]. ezwire makes a kit for $115 that works good i put it in my 35 chevy truck and will use it in my 36 suburban | | | | | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 2 Moderated | | Moderated Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 2 | i have a 64 c10 and i cut the crank end off the window regulator and welded on a power motor regulator end on from a 88-98 chevy truck, the gear tooth is almost a perfect match.have wireing from a 75 trans am and intend to install the up-down switch in the dash. now ounto power locks! | | |
