Thanks Pete the music is our local "oldies" station, here is other clips from earlier in the build you get to see a bit more of the engineering that's gone into the truck.
Moff, the biggest problem I had with the windshield was water bubbling between the glass and frame, I also had some come in at the divider bar. I bought some of that expensive windshield sealer and Sealed all around the frame and divider. It takes it awhile to fully cure but once it had I trimmed off the excess. It comes in a caulk gun size and I think it was 3M windshield weld 08609. It is messy but it worked and I like my crank out windshield a lot of air comes through there. BTW awesome job on the 40!
Thanks for the advice Gary I do not have the crank assembly for my truck so I am looking to fix the windshield frame need some advice on how to do that, anyone?
Paul, are you planning on retaining the frame,if so,do you have any pics of the frame removed?
1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in Scotland In the Stovebolt Gallery More pix on Flickr. I've definately got this truck thing in my blood ... my DNA sequence has torque settings "Of all the small nations of this earth, perhaps only the ancient Greeks surpass the Scots in their contribution to mankind" Winston Churchill.
I am hoping to keep the frame I have the glass cut and I am getting ready to order the seals and fixings, I will sort some pictures out today for you to look at.

If you don't have the crank anyways it will be much easier and less headache to just v-butt the windshield and put it in solid. I guess you could use panel glue and then urethane to seal the frame to the body, but seems like a lot of work to save a few bucks since the glass is already cut. My 2 cents.
Moff, The weather has been a bear this winter to work in the garage, but I am wondering if you have any new build updates to post as you haven't been here in awhile? Just asking.
Here is a video from October had a few guys round for beer and burgers cranked up the V12 I got the side pipes mounted but not connected at this time sounds ok to me but then I am biased to the V12
Not done anything apart from fit my tacho need to get my glass fitted and get some miles under my belt
Moff, The link has a few more pictures. The door window guide that is twisted in the pictures came with the truck and for what ever reason (hoarder!), I never got rid of it. I doubt it is any good any more.
Bread .
Updated pics on link - door window guide was held in place with the these and some type of silicone adhesive. -Bread-
Its taken a while to come out of hibernation but made a start on the door glass I have most of the pieces to assemble the door windows some pics in the album
The split interior window garnish is interesting on your truck and Bread's. Wonder what the reasoning was behind that? Maybe easier to stamp two pieces instead of one piece. Sure should make the garnish simpler to install and align.

Most likely it's due to manufacturing limitations at the time.
I have been reworking my interior panels while I wait for door seals I am thinking of covering them with a foam backed headliner material anyone have any experience with this? also missing some interior pieces besides the headliner.
It's definitely possible using a 3M or similar spray adhesive.
While you're waiting, why not insulate your doors/headliner, etc? It seems from the pics that they're not insulated? It makes a huge difference for heat and noise transfer.
I hear it works well. I use the bubble-wrap style water heater insulation and it's great. The key is to layer and get insulation everywhere you can, including behind the metal panels you already put back in.
Moff, Can you post a some pictures of the door seals? Since I have been taking apart the interior panels, I came across some petrified rubber under the cab/door seal strips. Maybe this is what you have? picture , picture
Hey Bread it is that same seal except I am missing the strips that hold the seals in place around the door and the pieces that fit on the front windshield pillars, it is funny how I cant fit anything because its all tied together interior panels, headliner, door seals each one reliant on the other as it all fits together so I need to order some more parts.
I managed to get the passenger door window guides and regulator working not sure if I even need to glue the fuzzy in place its a good fit in the channels I made but cracked the glass in the process... bummer!
Now I need to make some door panels to finish things off
I will try to post some up today not decided on the windshield yet but its looking like I will glue it in place, trying to think of an idea for a door capping anyone have any thoughts?
I went for a light grey and dark grey for my interior vinyl have the passenger door fitted I am looking for a door garnish to add a little detail to the interior pleased with the way it all turned out, pics in the album.
Thanks to the Virginia Beach Stovebolter's for coming down to Richmond to see my truck, we had a great morning kicking tires and talking trucks. Added a few pics to the album
Moff, Thanks for having us over yesterday. It was a great time meeting you and the Mrs. and also looking over your truck. It is coming along quite well, really impressive. I noticed there was a rubber garment so some sort that bolted the cab to the frame; with what did you bolt the cab to the frame with?
I used some rubber suspension mounts sandwiched between two cupped washers just to ease the vibration not that the V12 puts out any vibrations as you seen and heard it runs smooth and not to noisy even with the straight side pipes the bed has 1/2" thick rubber mat sandwiched between the frame and the bed.
I started my bed garnish come spoiler bar head liner arrived this week I think I have all the parts to finish aside from the windshield seal, a few pics in the album
Had a battle with my head liner over the weekend but I got it fitted the way I wanted now it needs to come apart and be covered with material, The gold paint is because I ran out of white ;-(! pics in the album
