After rebuilding the 2 speed rear axle (Tinkum model 5800 - M - 429)(last number hard to read)I need some shims for the ring gear (intermediate) shaft. They are not interchangeable side to side.

Does anyone know where I can get some?

I know this is a drive train subject but it is a Big Bolt specific item. I will post there as well.

Hy Jim Sears, I believe that rear axle brand is spelled Timken. Call a shop in your area that rebuilds large truck transmissions/differentials, explain what your looking for, they may be able to help you track down the parts you need. Is that a Timken double reduction diff.?

Yes, typo. It is a double reduction.

Checking local heavy shops is a good idea.

The local truck heavy truck shops seem to think it is extinct.

Manufactured some shims to finish the assembly.
