I got what looks like a pretty good light from J.C. Whitney, and the Whitney catalog recommended adding a logic circuit it sold so the 3d light didn't blink every time I braked and signaled a turn.
Wiring the logic circuit was easy -- one wire to left stop light, one to right, the last to the 3d light.
I've got the 3d light grounded to the frame, but the light comes with loony pictures (no diagrams) and instructions just about translated from Chinese. So where does the 3d light get its power? From the brakelight switch ahead of the flasher? If it does, why all this business with the logic circuit?

Good question. If you powered the light AFTER the brake light switch, but BEFORE and turn signal switching, it seems you could do without the logic circuit.
My bet is that the logic circuit was designed for new rigs where you couldn't access the brake circuit as easily before it gets confused in the turn signal spaghetti.
What would happen if you dumped the logic circuit, grounded the light and powered it from the switched side of the brake switch...it should light up on every brake application it seems to me!

Works fine. I believe all the other setups are for cars were you come off the back lights & it uses diods to prevent the light from flashing. I did put a fuse in the wire so if it shorted out it would not interfear with the other circuits.

i wired the two filaments together and connected that one wire to the brake lamp wire & drilled two holes. this clearance lamp grounds thru the mounting bolts to the chassis.
done in 1/2 hour.

I'll give that a try then look into the dual filament fix. And, well yeah, I thought, how can JCW foul up a simple thing like a light. You have to see those instructions.
