Is there a good way (simple) to accomplish this and is there any steering box that will swap out with the original? otherwise I think I am looking at a major project to rework everything up front to get this done. FYI I have a 235 engine in it.

There are no bolt in power steering conversions. I'm not sure what type of unit would best serve a 42 as my experience in this area is with TF trucks, 60's, and F100's. However, most of the same modifications are required. You will need a steering box, pitman arm, drag link, hoses, pulleys, pump & brackets. You will also need to modify the column or replace it. There are a number of sources that offer kits, most require some welding and cutting. Do some research and determine which system is within your budget and mechanical expertise. In all cases as Bill stated, bring money.
